Kairos - God’s Appointed Time to ActMinta
Philip – An example for us
Sometimes, as believers we find ourselves operating in a particular gift in a certain way or place. And that becomes our comfort zone – it’s like we are locked into doing one good thing in a particular way and never developing any other areas. However, God can use us beyond our set standards or zones.
Look at Philip in the book of Acts. His faith was versatile - he served tables, preached in Samaria, then when was called to preach to one person out in the desert. Wherever he was called by God, he obeyed. (Acts 8:26,27) But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, “Get up and go south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza.” (This is a desert road.) So he got up and went.
The gifts that God in his grace has provided to us are a great tool for us to do the works of God. However let us not limit the Holy Spirit. Our dependence should never be upon the gift, but on the Giver. God knows best how to use us. Like Philip, let’s be open to the voice of God and He will use us in ways beyond our imagination.
