Be directed by the Holy Spirit

I have not been very proud of my decision making skills. In fact, all throughout my teens, I have been known for making thoughtless and spontaneous decisions! And this is dangerous because more often than not you end up regretting what you decided.

When baby Jesus was presented at the temple, Luke chapter 2 mentions of two people who recognised Him as the Messiah -- Simeon (Luke 2:25 to 28) and Anna (Luke 2: 36 to 38).

This means, they could see what they saw because of the decisions they chose to make in their lives till that day. Obviously they must have made all the right decisions to be at the right place and right time (they were exactly at the place the will of God wanted them to be).

What was the secret? Well, Luke 2:25 gives the key - the Holy Spirit was on him. Also Anna acknowledged the Holy Spirit by serving, praying, worshiping and fasting day and night (Luke 2:37). Simeon and Anna allowed the Holy Spirit to direct their lives.

When we are in constant fellowship with the Holy Spirit and we allow Him to direct our lives, we will never struggle or doubt in the decisions we make. We will always be at the right place and right time to ‘catch’ our blessing!
