Hearing From Heaven: Listening for the Lord in Daily LifeEgzanp
“I Am Has Sent Me to You.”
As a child, I loved to hear the stories of God delivering the Israelites from Egypt. I resonated with these stories. Living in extreme poverty seemed like living as a slave in Egypt.
Growing up in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya will make you call out to the Lord. It will have you ask Him to deliver you from the deep poverty your family can’t seem to escape. Knowing that God would hear my cry for help comforted me--He would come to help. Like the psalmist, I was able to cry, ‘’From whence does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.”
The story of the Exodus proved that God heard His people’s constant cry for help and sought to deliver them for His Kingdom. And He sees you, too.
Furthermore, God raised a man to lead His people out of bondage. God assured Moses that He would be with Him: “I AM has sent me to you.” Moses needed to listen and know who was calling him. As believers, we need to remember who called us to the life that we live. Jesus, the I AM, is with us. He is the one who leads us and enables us to accomplish the work He has called us to do.
The Lord saw the Israelites struggle in Egypt and came to their rescue.
Are you waiting for God? Has it felt like forever? We patiently wait for God in poverty, sickness, riches and all other situations because we know He hears our prayers and sees the circumstances we are facing.
