Think Ahead: 7 Decisions You Can Make Today for the God-Honoring Life You Want TomorrowPrimjer
Pre-Choose This Day
Are you sick and tired of losing battles to the devil, giving into temptation, and regretting sinning against God?
Are you done living with good spiritual intentions, but not following through?
Do you sense, deep down, that God has more for you? That He doesn’t just want you to be happy, or successful? That God wants you faithful?
Do you hate being easily influenced by the people and patterns of this world? Are you ready to be salt and light, influencing others toward Jesus each day?
Are you sick of being selfish, and are you now primed to live with a heart of incredible generosity?
Do you hate being inconsistent, and now you’re ready to do consistently what you used to do occasionally?
Will you draw a line in the sand that when you commit, you don’t quit?
It’s time to decide. Do you want more of what you have? Then do more of what you already do. If you want the same life you’ve been getting, then keep on doing the same old thing you’ve been doing. But, if you want something different, it’s time to stop reacting and think ahead. It’s time to make seven pre-decisions that will change your life.
Are you ready?
If so, let’s pre-decide:
I will be ready.
I will be devoted.
I will be faithful.
I will be an influencer.
I will be generous.
I will be consistent.
I will be a finisher.
We have the opportunity to make these seven pre-decisions. But remember, God led the way by going first.
God is ready.
Jesus was prepared and available to do whatever God had for Him to do.
God is devoted.
God the Father was so devoted to you He sent His Son Jesus, who died for you.
God is faithful.
God is and always will be faithful to us: “If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself” (2 Timothy 2:13).
God is an influencer.
Jesus has been named the most influential person ever, and I doubt you’d be reading this Bible Plan if He hadn’t first influenced your life in some way.
God is generous.
We’re generous because we’re made in the image of a generous God, who so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son for us.
God is consistent.
Jesus “is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). It’s His absolute consistency that allows us to fully trust Him in every moment, and we want to live with that same consistency so we can become more trustworthy.
God is a finisher.
Before the creation of the world, the holy Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) planned how they would save us. That pre-decision led Jesus to strip Himself of the glory of heaven and come to earth and to die for us. He was tempted to opt out of the plan, but refused, going to the cross, from which He declared, “It is finished” (John 19:30).
Knowing God behaves this way toward us helps us want to pre-decide to live like He does.
So, are you ready to choose who you will become? To live the life you want to live? More importantly, to live the life God wants you to live?
The choice is yours.
With God’s help, you can pre-decide.
