You Were Created to PrayPrimjer
Are You Willing?
In this devotional, we have seen that it is not only our initial calling in creation but also our redemption in Christ that gives us the right to pray. This solid, life-changing truth can take away doubt, fear, uncertainty, and timidity regarding your prayer life.
Because of Christ, you no longer have to feel isolated from God or unsure of where you stand with Him and His purposes. Instead, you can have a relationship of love with God your Father, the certainty of your redemption in Jesus, an understanding of your calling and authority in Christ, and a clear idea of God’s purpose for your life. God wants you to live confidently in the authority He has given you.
Do you want God to bring about His purposes for your life and for our fallen world? You can invite Him to do so through prayer.
From Genesis to Revelation, God always found a human being to help Him accomplish His purposes. He comes to you now and asks, in effect, “Are you willing? Will you help Me fulfill My purposes for your life and for the earth? Or are you content to live an unfulfilled existence and to let the influences of sin and Satan encroach upon our world? ‘Who is he who will devote himself to be close to me?'" (See Jeremiah 30:21.)
If you are willing to devote yourself to becoming closer to God, then begin today to apply the redemption of Christ to your prayer life by acknowledging Jesus’s restoration of your relationship with the Father and your purpose of dominion.
Remind yourself daily that your redemption means Satan and sin no longer have authority over you, that you have access to the Father and authority through Jesus’s name, and that you have authority through the Word of God.
The foundation of prayer is our agreement with God’s Word, our oneness with God in Christ, who is the Living Word, and our unity with God’s purposes and will. I pray that you will desire to draw closer to God, to live in communion with Him, to be in agreement with His purposes, and to exercise the dominion authority He has given you in creation and through the Spirit of Christ. You were created to pray!
Thought: Through prayer, you can invite God to bring about His purposes for your life and for our fallen world.
