Healed By Touch

Have you ever prayed for someone or you yourself needed prayer (Side Note: When do we NOT need prayer)? Did you hold their hand or place your hand on their shoulder while praying? Even though healing can occur without a physical touch, Scripture provides us with many examples that a physical touch brings healing.

You may be familiar with the woman who had the issue of blood for many years in the book of Mark; when she heard Jesus would be passing through, she says, “Even if all I touch are His clothes, I will be healed.” When she did touch Jesus, he knew he was touched because he felt his healing power leave, not him physically, but it was flowing to heal the woman.

Another moment Jesus healed through touch is in Matthew, where he greets two men who are both blind. They asked Jesus if they could see, and with compassion, Jesus touches them and immediately restores sight.

As a practicing chiropractor, I love to share with friends that Jesus performed the first chiropractic adjustment in Luke 13. There, a woman was bent over so much so, that she couldn’t even look up and had been this way for eighteen years! When Jesus touched her, she was able to stand up straight suddenly. #JesusIsAwesome

Today, as Christians, we need to remember that after Jesus’ resurrection, he commissioned us with his power. We see this in Acts where Peter heals a man who was paralyzed. When Peter touched him and helped him to his feet, the man’s ankles and feet grew strong. You might be thinking, “I don’t have this type of power.” Well, I want you to know that you do (you can see this more in today’s video). Our body works by electricity, and there is a power that circulates in and through us but is more efficient when we are eating the right kinds of foods, including greens that contain necessary vitamins and minerals.

Prayer for a Divine Touch: Father, I look to You today for a touch from heaven. I ask that I can be a vessel to others who might need healing. Show me who needs Your touch today, and give me the strength to comfort and heal with Your power. I ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
