Even Though It Was Good - It Was Bad
Early in Jesus’ ministry his popularity was spreading rapidly due to miraculous healings, authoritative teaching, and casting out of demons. We find a specific incident in which a man is healed of leprosy and Jesus sternly charged him not to tell anyone except go directly to the priests and perform the cleansing rite. This miraculous healing was too much for the man and he felt he had to spread the news.
Disobedience has consequences and we find it here. The reader must wonder what would have happened if the man was obedient and went to the temple to show proof to the priests. Instead we find Jesus’ ministry and living conditions are altered.
Prayer: Glory to God in the Highest! Father, let us rejoice in your truth and help us to pray for the nations that you may be known. Let your salvation be preached among all nations. Fill us with your presence and power to testify of your great mercy and love to those who are lost. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
