How To Survive THRIVE - Financially
Day 7: Shop Until You Drop
My sense is that if:
- We live with a deep knowledge that God is our source,
- We take responsibility for what we have,
- We work diligently with thankful hearts,
- We tithe and so trigger trust in God,
- We curb our greed and so save and eliminate debt,
We will find ourselves content. This contentment will affect the way we spend and in every way improve the quality of our lives. A small tip: Enjoy things without the compulsion to own them. A library book is as easily read as one bought, the beauty of the beach or park is free, things can be shared between family and friends. With all the things in place, shop till you drop and what you may find is that you will drop some of the things you shop for.
The joy of shopping is not shared by many in South Africa. If you have excess, why not offer someone the opportunity to shop with no money. Take someone on a shopping spree, giving them an opportunity to choose and enjoy.
"Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.”
Isaiah 55:1
