“Eating Last”

God rained a man named Christ, so one day, man could reign with God. It was not good for God to eat alone, but sonship would need be proven first. In the most famous of guest rooms, Jesus thanked his Dad. Not only for the bread in his hands but for He, likewise, to be in the hands of God. Since Jesus knew all along He was God’s serving; the very Bread man could not live without, Jesus served sinners, never sin. In fact, at the last supper, Christ promised to be the last supper. He was always putting others first.

Now while Christ’s whey would not be pretty, neither would it remain unleavened. Not long after Passover, Jesus heaved a tree; and one so in-ordinarily crossed to form a table. Its construction was unique because the Maker was its builder. The builder was its center and there, from hosting around it to hoisted upon it, Jesus would empty completely, the vessels God gave Him to shed. With no life left to give, now every life could be received. And a good father wants all his children home for supper.

Not Lent but Given: The Here I AM

Jesus wasn’t lent. He was given. Which means, Here is why Easter doesn’t begin with Good Friday, but Bethlehem. Here is why Jesus is not conditioned by the rules you keep, but you are positioned by those He kept perfectly. Here is why death is forever defeated and you can walk the pages of God’s Word with washed feet. Here is why you are rising, even now as you read, and resurrection doesn’t culminate on Sundays. Here is Christ. Jesus is the Here I AM.
