Stronger Than The Struggle: 5 Day Devotional

DAY 4 OF 5

I’m the first to say I don’t like to fight. Even though I’m outgoing and have an   outwardly aggressive personality, I avoid confrontation. In fact, I will do   anything to avoid it. I’m like our Goldendoodle dog: a recovering people-pleaser. But warfare is not just for a particular personality type—for those who are aggressive or like to fight. Spiritual warfare is for everyone. The battle is for everyone because we were all meant to win. Succeeding in our spiritual lives is the greatest place of freedom. We were all intended to keep the enemy under our feet. Being powerful is not about personality; it’s  bout a position.

Friend, if you don’t look at fear as your enemy, it will defeat you. Fear doesn’t stay where it begins. Fear will infiltrate every area of your life, paralyzing you until you live a small, worry-filled, defeated life, having surrendered the plans God had for you from the beginning.

Your enemy isn’t messing around. He doesn’t allow little fears to stay little. He uses our little fears as an entry point for greater fears. His hope is to keep you in spiritual paralysis; he’s banking on you cozying up to worry, fear, and anxiety.

Let me remind you: You haven’t come this far to melt in fear. You haven’t come out of darkness to live in the shadows. You have come out of darkness to live in the light—the light of full confidence in the birthright God has given you. He wants you to have a game plan for fear, a plan to stay stronger than the struggle, a plan to empower you every day with the supernatural strategy of power, love, and a sound mind.

About this Plan

Stronger Than The Struggle: 5 Day Devotional

"Why do I still struggle if I'm faithfully following God?" We all face challenges. On any given day, the problems of real life can take our breaths away. Our marriages, finances, relationships, and health are regular struggles, and that's just the beginning. Doesn't the Bible say the war has already been won? So why do we still battle?  With humor and honesty, Havilah Cunnington lays out practical tools to thrive in the face of hardship, enabling us to walk forward in the confidence that, because of Jesus, we really are stronger than the struggle.
