God With Usનમૂનો

Psalm 23, "The Lord is my Shepherd," is familiar to many, but have we realized that throughout the psalm, the references to the Shepherd reflect various attributes of God's names? It also reveals names given to God and places, by the ancients, born from their encounters with the Most High, each reflecting God's divine character. These names clarify God's purposes and positioning for His children, reminding us that He is always with us—guiding, providing, and faithfully standing for us.
Psalm 23:1 introduces the Lord as Jehovah Ra'ah, "The Lord my Shepherd," and Jireh, "The Lord will provide." Sheep are vulnerable and prone to wandering, yet our Shepherd is both protector and intimate companion, whose voice and presence we can trust. Jireh first appears in Genesis 22:14, when Abraham, prepared to sacrifice Isaac, declared, "God Himself will provide the lamb." Abraham named that place Jehovah Jireh (The Lord will provide), foreshadowing Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. In the name Jireh, we find everything we need for life and godliness.
In Jehovah Shalom, "The Lord my Peace," we find calm in life's troubles. Psalm 23:2 says, "He makes me lie down in green pastures." Similarly, in John 14:27, Jesus offers peace that renews and refreshes our minds, leading us beside still waters, where every worry bows to the God of Peace.
In Jehovah Rophe, "The Lord my Healer," and Jehovah Tsidkenu, "The Lord our Righteousness," we see God’s healing and righteousness combined. Psalm 23:3 says, "He restores my soul and guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake." Righteousness and healing are often connected in Scripture, as in Matthew 9, where forgiveness (righteousness) leads to healing—“Pick up your mat and walk.” In 2 Corinthians 5:21, we learn that God made Jesus, who knew no sin, to become sin for us, so that in Him, we might become the righteousness of God. As our Shepherd, God's Word leads us in righteousness, renewing and healing us deeply.
God is with us! With great joy, confidence and reward we can stay His path before us.
