Kingdom Resource Generation
Kingdom resource generation is not about wealth creation for its own sake; it’s about understanding the divine purpose behind the resources God entrusts to us. In Deuteronomy, we read that it’s God who gives us the power to get wealth, for the furthering of His Kingdom purposes. That means our earning potential is a gift from God. It also means the ability God gives us to create wealth isn’t about financial prosperity but about aligning our attitudes and actions with His purposes. Coming to know Jesus changes the way we think about money – and He will continue to challenge us and change us in this area as we grow in likeness to Him.
Wealth creation in God’s Kingdom is always linked to Kingdom expansion. Some believers are particularly anointed for resource generation and distribution. I like to call these people Kingdom financiers or Kingdom treasurers. They have a unique ability to unlock the work of God through the release of finances. They’re not just anointed to give; they’re anointed to make money in ways that align with the wisdom and providence of God. Of course, this ability to gather and release wealth comes with great responsibility and the challenge of stewardship. We’ll come up against what scripture refers to as the ‘the spirit of Mammon’, which tries to convince us that riches can provide what only God can: true security, satisfaction, peace, joy, and empowerment. Jesus didn’t sugarcoat this issue: He told us in no uncertain terms that it’s impossible to serve both God and money.
The best way to make sure you aren’t ensnared by the relentless tug of materialism is to remind yourself you own nothing, and you’re a steward of everything. God is really the only owner of everything in the universe, and we’re simply tasked by Him to use every resource at our disposal to expand His influence on earth. Let’s set our minds on things above, not on the fleeting wealth of this world. By doing so, we’ll realign our hearts with God’s purposes, ensuring that our wealth serves His Kingdom, for His glory.
