Transforming Encounters: The 40-Day Challenge (Luke)નમૂનો

ALL who happened to be in the synagogue in Nazareth that day were impressed by Jesus. ALL were amazed and spoke well of him, and then ALL were so enraged that they wanted to kill him. Jesus did not try to impress them with miracles, nor did he want to please them with words. Jesus challenged their expectations, their beliefs, and above all their narrow-mindedness. On that day in Nazareth, Jesus publicly announced his mission - the fulfillment of the prophecy about the Good News, which applies not only to the Jews but to all nations. ALL who heard it had the opportunity to decide for themselves what to do with those words. But at that moment, ALL turned against Jesus.

I am one of those ALL who praise Jesus and know a lot about him. I am amazed by the beauty of his words and actions which bring the Good News of love, liberation, grace and mercy. However, I wonder if I am really ready to accept a Jesus who speaks and acts outside of my understanding of who He is. What about when Jesus decides to reveal himself, to answer a prayer, to fulfill a need...not to those who believe correctly, according to my judgement, but to all those who seek him, even in the wrong way?!? Can such a Jesus enrage me, or at least make me a little angry?!? Of course I’m not thinking of kicking Jesus out of ‘my town’, but I wonder if I’m ready to follow Jesus even when he challenges my whole well-established world of faith.
