God's Faithfulnessનમૂનો

Keep Left You Rabbits
Oh my goodness, this rabbit hole is deep. Turns out the entire Bible is like one giant salute or encyclopedia entry to faithfulness. The story of God’s faithfulness – gratefully retold in our wacky language but best explored through the mysterious and uber-biblical Hebrew ‘emet’ and Greek ‘pistos’ – sits at the very centre of the Christian life. If He can’t be trusted, it’s over. If the promise is broken, it’s over. Asking ‘if…’ is a logical and responsible step towards the truth.
The faithfulness of God, for all His love, creativity, glory, complexity, majesty and sovereignty, rests on a promise… a person. I had no idea how much I’d underestimated the centrality and constant glow of God’s faithfulness in my own faith. He is loyal beyond comprehension or reason. He is trustworthy with a track record that just floors me into awe. He is painfully consistent, which is a thing I’m working on. And from what I gather, based on everything He’s already done, He is relentless and unconditional in His love for me.
The rabbit hole I’m down, possibly for life, is the story of God’s faithfulness against the grain of my cynicism, circumstances and, yep, sin. I can either escape in a state of shame and overwhelm and hopelessness, or surrender and let the healer set me free. Paul reminds us in Corinthians: God delivered on His promise. Faithful has a name. Jesus is smiling at you, arms wide open, lamp in hand for every corner of the rabbit hole… meet Him there, surrender, let Him hold you. Tightly.
