New Trust

Let’s be real—giving up control isn’t easy. We like to think we’ve got everything under control, whether it’s handling school stress, friendships, sports, or planning our futures. But what happens when it all feels overwhelming? That’s where surrendering to God comes in. It’s like handing over control to someone you know can handle it better than you.

Here’s why we surrender:

1.God has our best interests at heart.

Think about how much your parents or guardians care about you (even when it doesn’t feel like it). They make decisions to keep you safe because they love you. Now multiply that by infinity—that’s how much God loves you. Psalm 84:11 says, “No good thing does He withhold from those who love Him“. God isn’t holding back; He wants what’s best for you because you’re His child. Trusting Him means believing that He’s on your side even when things don’t go your way.

2.God knows better than we do.

Have you ever been asked to do something you’re not great at like fixing a broken laptop or leading a group project on a subject you struggle with? What do you do? You find someone who knows what they’re doing—a tech-savvy friend or a classmate who’s great at that subject—and let them help. That’s what surrendering to God is like. God knows everything about you—your past, present, and future—because He’s the one who created you. Why not give your struggles and plans to the One who knows exactly how to handle them?

Surrendering to God is a choice you make daily—sometimes multiple times a day. It’s not always easy to give up control, especially when you think you can figure things out yourself. But the benefit is peace. When you trust God, you don’t have to stress about solving everything on your own. He’s got you!

Prayer:

God, I know You love me and want what’s best for me. Help me to trust You with the things I can’t control. Teach me to surrender every day and to follow Your plan even when it’s hard. Amen.
