WALKING IN HUMILITY

Humility is a hallmark of Christlikeness and a vital ingredient in our walk with God. Philippians 2:3-5 exhorts us, "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." True Humility reflects the Attitude of Christ, who, though equal to God, took on the form of a servant.

Micah 6:8 summarizes God’s Requirements for us: "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" Walking in Humility is about recognizing our dependence on God and valuing others above ourselves. It is a countercultural posture that prioritizes service over self-interest.

Consider how Humility impacts relationships. A humble heart seeks reconciliation, forgives offenses, and celebrates the success of others without envy. It creates an environment of Peace and Unity, reflecting God’s Kingdom Values. Jesus demonstrated this Humility by washing His disciples’ feet, modeling servanthood as the path to greatness.

Today, ask God to help you walk in Humility. Look for opportunities to serve others and reflect Christ’s Love through your actions. Remember, Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less.
