THE REWARD OF OBEDIENCE
Obedience is the pathway to blessings and intimacy with God. Deuteronomy 28:1-2 proclaims, "And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God."
In both the Old and New Testaments, obedience is emphasized as a key to experiencing God’s Best. Jesus Himself affirmed this in John 14:23: "If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." Obedience is not just about following rules; it is an expression of love and trust in God.
Consider the story of Noah. His obedience in building the ark, despite ridicule and doubt, preserved his family and allowed him to fulfill God’s Purpose. Similarly, Abraham’s willingness to obey God’s command to sacrifice Isaac became a defining moment of faith, resulting in God’s Covenant Blessings.
Obedience often requires faith and surrender, especially when God’s Instructions challenge our logic or comfort. However, the rewards are far greater than the sacrifices. When you obey God, you align yourself with His Divine Plan and open the door for His Blessings and Guidance.
Today, reflect on areas in your life where God is calling you to greater obedience. Trust Him, knowing that His commands are for your good and His Glory.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: Are there areas where you struggle to obey God fully? How can you trust Him more deeply and follow His leading without hesitation?
PRAYER: Lord, teach me to obey Your Word wholeheartedly. Help me to trust Your Wisdom and walk in alignment with Your Will, knowing that Your Plans are perfect. Amen.
