Forgiveness Is...

DAY 5 OF 9

Forgiveness is a gift

Salaam!

I know from personal experience how hard it can be to forgive after being deeply and unjustly hurt. Yet, I’ve also experienced the freedom that forgiveness brings, and I want you to experience that too!

“Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door of resentment and the handcuffs of hatred. It is a power that breaks the chains of bitterness and the shackles of selfishness”. – Corrie ten Boom

God works ALL THINGS together for good to those who love Him (Romans 8:28). ALL THINGS include painful and unforgivable things. He can make beauty from ashes and turn mourning into dancing (Isaiah 61:3-4). Forgiveness prepares the way for God’s transformative power.

The stories of Gladys Staines, Elisabeth Elliot, and Corrie ten Boom show how God used these women mightily in His Kingdom after they forgave the gravest of offences.

Only an open hand can receive new blessings. If we choose not to forgive, we basically say, "God, I’d rather keep my hands firmly gripped around my pain than receive all the goodness You want to give me."

The greatest gift you can ever receive from God is the forgiveness of your sins, but refusing to forgive others blocks His forgiveness toward you. Matthew 6:14-15 says:

If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins”.

As we continue to practise forgiveness, say this prayer:

"Heavenly Father, today, help me to forgive, truly forgive. To release, let go, surrender, and abandon all resentment and animosity. May my heart be free and light. Thank You for Your peace enveloping me right now. In Jesus’ name, amen!"

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
