Saying No to Sinનમૂનો
Conscious Choice for Righteous Living
Does it bother you that you still make mistakes and sometimes sin despite being born again?
Does it make you doubt whether you are born again?
Stop it.
We all still make mistakes and we all still sin at times!
The big difference is: You don't want to sin anymore!
Sometimes you say something you shouldn't say.
Or sometimes you do something you shouldn't do anymore.
The moment you've done or said it, you immediately think, “I shouldn't have done that.”
You realize, this is no longer who I am, this no longer belongs to me.
That makes the big difference.
You don't want to do it.
You no longer want to do in your “heart” the things that you know don't actually belong to you anymore. You don't wake up in the morning and say, “Today I'm going to live in sin.”
Yet sometimes you just still make mistakes.
Why then?
Because your flesh can still sin. You must come to understand that you have been given the power to say “no” to sin and temptation. You do that by renewing your thinking with the Word of God.
In this way, you can say 'no' to your flesh, which wants to sin.
With your new person, your born-again spirit, you now have power over sin!
Sometimes it doesn’t feel that way, but you can, because that is what the Word teaches us.
Know that God does not punish you if you have committed a sin in your flesh. He sees your heart; He does not rebuke you. However, by sinning you do open the door for Satan to come into your life and cause all kinds of misery (James 1:13-15). These are the “fruits” of your actions.
So use the power to say “no” to the flesh. To sin. Renew your thinking. Read God's Word. Focus your life on Him!
We are still “in” this world, but no longer “of” this world. What applies to the world no longer applies to us. We are children of the King and free from sin!
