The Priority Decision: The Challenge of Putting God First

Putting God first in our lives is often easier said than done. The challenges of daily life—distractions, responsibilities, societal pressures, and even our own desires—can make it difficult to keep Him at the center of our hearts. On top of this, Satan continually works to draw our attention away from God, tempting us to prioritize temporary, fleeting things over the eternal treasures found in a relationship with God. These distractions can leave us feeling spiritually drained, disconnected, and unfulfilled—even when we achieve the things we thought would make us happy.

Today, take intentional time to pause and surrender your heart to God. Acknowledge the areas in your life where other things have taken precedence over Him, and ask for His strength to resist the pull of worldly distractions. Pray for clarity and focus, asking Him to help you discern what is truly important and to realign your priorities with His will. Surrender is not always easy, yet it is a vital step in cultivating a life centered on God.

As you reflect, remember God’s ways are always higher, wiser, and better than our own. When we place our trust in Him and allow Him to lead, we find peace and joy that surpasses anything the world can offer. Everything, whether our dreams, challenges, or daily responsibilities, is always better and more fruitful when placed in God’s hands.
