Prepare the Way: A 21-Day Reading Plan Through John by Justeina Brownleeનમૂનો
Day 16: For Your Good
Read John 16
Jesus knew His time on Earth was coming to an end, so He told His disciples something surprising: "It is for your good that I am going away." To the disciples, this must have seemed hard to believe. How could it possibly be good for them if their Teacher, Friend, and Savior left them? But Jesus had a Bigger Plan in mind—He was preparing them for the arrival of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, in His human form, could only be in one place at a time. But the Holy Spirit, also called the Helper, would come and live within each believer, providing constant access to God’s Presence, Power, and Wisdom. This shift—from having Jesus beside them to having the Holy Spirit within them—was Monumental.
The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, guiding us toward repentance and spiritual growth. He shines a light on the areas of our lives that need transformation, always pointing us back to God’s Truth. Without the Spirit, we would remain blind to the changes God desires in our hearts.
The Holy Spirit also leads us into all Truth, helping us understand God’s Word and how to apply it in our daily lives. He’s our Constant Guide, offering Divine Wisdom in moments of decision and showing us how to live in alignment with God’s Will.
Finally, the Holy Spirit empowers us to live out our faith boldly and share the Gospel. The same Power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us, giving us the strength to follow God’s Calling.
Jesus’ departure wasn’t the end—it was the beginning of a New Chapter in which every believer would carry God’s Presence within them. And it truly was for our good.
Reflection Questions:
- How aware are you of the Holy Spirit’s Presence in your life? In what ways do you sense His Guidance or Comfort?
- Are there areas of your life where you rely on your own strength rather than the Holy Spirit’s Power? How can you surrender those to Him?
