Build a Relationship With God

DAY 5 OF 6

What is God’s favorite fruit? 🍇🥭🍉

While the world around us focuses on earthly love, we pursue a relationship with the One who IS love (1 John 4:16) 🥰.

Yesterday we explored the passage about the vine and the branches in John 15. If you’re an observant reader, you may have noticed that I left out the part where Jesus said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful” (John 15:1-3).

Again, at first glance, this passage seems intimidating. However, it is crucial to remember that the Bible was not originally written in English, and sometimes words can have different nuances in the original Greek text.

The term Jesus used for “cuts off” can also mean “to raise, to elevate, to lift”. When a gardener finds a branch that isn’t bearing fruit, he will do everything possible to restore its health, including elevating it so it’s exposed to more sunlight.

Like a diligent gardener, God wants to lift you so you can bear more fruit. God loves you as you are, but He loves you too much to leave you that way.

God is both relational and transformational. As we have discovered over the last few days, God deeply desires to have a relationship with you. He longs to be close to you and for you to be dependent on Him. Ultimately, He wants to transform you into the best version of yourself. Someone who bears His fruits and reflects the image of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18)

God’s favorite fruits are the ones He cultivates in you. Are you ready to be transformed by Him?

Take some time and ask God to reveal the areas in your life where you are not bearing (enough) fruit. Invite Him into those areas as a Divine Gardener and say, ‘Father, have Your way in me.’

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
