Daily Nuggets of Grace - Part 8: Peacemaker!નમૂનો
Celebrate Unity
Are you ready for the party? It’s going to be out of this world! Literally.
We are being prepared for the marriage supper of the Lamb
As it turns out, God loves to celebrate. In the Old Testament, His people were required to set aside a portion of their income to have a nationwide party in Jerusalem. When Jesus was born, God celebrated with an angel choir. Jesus did His first miracle at a wedding party. And Jesus was even criticized for being a partier that hung around "tax collectors and sinners."
If we look at who God is, we see He‘a joyful. We often fail to picture Him this way, but God is the most joyous being in the universe. His fruit given by the presence of the Holy Spirit is joy.
I'm unsure if He tells jokes, but He certainly has a sense of humor. Who else would come up with the idea of allowing a donkey to do "divine correction" on his master? God's fun!
So, it is no surprise that one of the huge events to come is our marriage to Jesus and a party to follow. As we know, Jesus is the Groom - also called the Lamb - and the Church, which is all believers collectively, is the bride.
What a fantastic celebration of our unity! We are united as one bride. We have enough diversity to make up the whole and enough unity to be held together. In fact, some members are connectors, like joints in our physical body (Ephesians 4:16).
Think for a minute what it might like to look down the table as it stretches for thousands of kilometers. God's party is beyond anything we can imagine.
God has made us one. We are His body, His temple, His beloved, His bride. And God rejoices now and in the future in what He has done.
So, Reflect and Respond:
God made us into one body in Christ. All Christians are members with you in the Body of Christ. How can you appreciate this true identity of other believers?
Now, Let’s Pray:
Father, may I see the truth of our Christian unity with Your eyes. May I seek a divine connection between fellow believers. Amen.
