Hope: A Courageous Journey of Faithનમૂનો
DEVOTION - TODAY'S DISCUSSION
God's Word prepares us for everyday living. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17, NIV) His Holy Spirit helps us understand His word and also helps us recognize moments He brings us that can only be "Of Course" God moments. By recognizing these moments, God is glorified! Words can be very powerful. No words have more power than God's living Word!
The light of the Spirit inside us should be visible by everyone we come into contact with. When we are around other believers, the Holy Spirit in all of us lights up even brighter . Have you ever felt this?
The Spirit also allows us to shine God's presence before those who do not read and study His word, who do not believe, who may be lost.
So, today when you are out and about, realize that some of the people you come into contact with may only have seen God's light that day because of it's shining through you. Open your eyes to God's gifts as they come, as big or as small as they may be. He brings them to you for His glory and when you share them with others, His light will shine!
FROM "TAYLOR'S GIFT" THE BOOK
After the guys left to get food, Patricia and I sat alone in her living room, and I felt safe asking her a very intimate question.
“I’d like to hear her heartbeat like I used to—without a stetho- scope. Can I put my head on your chest?”
“Of course,” Patricia said, wrapping her arm around me and pulling me closer. With my eyes closed, I pressed my ear against her warm skin, marveling at the sound of my daughter’s heart pumping in Patricia’s chest.
Bump-bump. Bump-bump. Bump-bump. BOOM.
Suddenly there had been a loud kick. I waited a second, then sat up and looked at Patricia.
“Did you feel that?” she asked. “Yes. I did.”
I put my ear back to her chest—and BOOM! It happened again, like a huge kick. “What was that?” I asked.
“That was Taylor,” Patricia said with a smile on her face. “Does she do that often?”
“It’s never happened before,” she said. “But while you were listening, I was praying to God and asking Him to give you a sign from Taylor.”
I was speechless.
TODAY'S REFLECTIONS
How much time do you devote to growing in God's word? Do you look for Him throughout the day and then thank Him if you feel He's done something special just for you?
Pray for God to season you with understanding His word. Ask God to direct your day in a way that brings Him glory and shines His light in a beautiful way.
