Day 1- God is a Family Man.
God consistently reveals Himself as a family man throughout the Scriptures. Not a deity, needing to be appeased, but as our loving Father who is already well pleased with us.
Sonship in Christ is more about our inheritance in Him than anything else. As believers, we enjoy the benefits of having God as our Father and faith-filled brothers and sisters as our family. No matter what we may have gone through with our earthly family, we have the assurance of our Heavenly Father’s consistent love for us.
Jeremiah 31:3: “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, 'Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore, with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.'”
God’s love for us is not transient or conditional. His love and desire to be united with us is demonstrated in Christ’s perfect sacrifice where He reconciled the world to Himself through the Cross. Because God initiated and effected the plan for our salvation and union, nothing we can do can negate this completed plan.
We cannot fall so far out of his love that our Heavenly Father removes us from His family. No circumstance, power of hell or scheme of man can pluck us out of Abba’s arms.
Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
As you go through this day, stay conscious of the everlasting love our Father has for us.
