Unfiltered: Living Raw, Real, + Redeemed by Jesusનમૂનો
WHEN YOUR CALLING IS CONFUSING
Is there a greater calling than being the mother of the Savior of the World? This was Mary’s role—a virgin girl chosen to shepherd the life that would save all other lives. Mary felt the weight of this calling. We can hear the vulnerability in her voice as she responds to the angel who delivered the news of her miraculous pregnancy as she questions, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.” Though there was no greater privilege than to serve as the mother of Christ, she was understandably terrified as she tried to comprehend the logistics of her pregnancy.
Mary’s vulnerability proves that God is aware of our concerns as He leads us into a new season or purpose in life.
Isn’t it interesting, and yet not surprising, that God would reveal to Mary that her relative, Elizabeth, would be walking this journey before her as she experienced her own miraculous pregnancy? When we feel weary while navigating life’s detours, there is nothing like community and friendship to remind us of what is true. Sometimes, when we need a little courage, we draw strength and courage from those who have gone before us. As we see the rich fruit cultivated in the valley of their lives, we find strength to endure our own. Carrying Jesus was Mary’s greatest joy, but much like many things in life, it came with its own set of burdens and fears.
Let this encourage you deeply—don’t worry about how God is going to take care of the details when He leads you into a new season. He will make sense of every unknown in time. A heart utterly dependent on Jesus is a heart that will always know peace.
GET REAL WITH YOURSELF
Mary was a virgin, which meant that a miracle was the only explanation for her pregnancy. Do you think you would have believed her if she told you she was carrying Jesus?
What’s a time in your life when you were given a task or assignment for which you initially wished you wouldn’t have been chosen?
When was the last time you felt afraid or discouraged? Did you talk to Jesus about it?
GET RENEWED IN PRAYER
HEY JESUS,
Thank You for being consistent in who You are and how You love—You never waver, and Your character is the greatest safety net in this life. Sometimes, I get caught in my head, worrying about what seems possible, or what is socially acceptable, and it keeps me from fully embracing Your calling. Will You help me with this? Help me be more like Mary, fully devoted to You and Your will, even when it doesn’t make sense. Understanding is never a requirement for worship—I know this. Help me live it out.
As I enter this season in life, make me aware of the little blessings you are sending my way to affirm where I am and that You’re with me. When I feel moments of doubt, help me bring them to You—You yearn to hear them, comfort me, and lead me back in the way of truth. Thank You for knowing that my reactions are often based on insecurity, not an unwillingness to follow You. Sometimes, I just forget that You are always near and that You have promised to never leave me alone. I’m grateful for that.
IN JESUS'S NAME, AMEN.
