100 Days of Hopeનમૂનો
Open Arms
Jesus utters these words immediately following his speech to the Pharisees about their hypocrisy and sin. Like a parent disciplining his children, Jesus is overcome with frustration stemming from his immense love for these people. He pleads with them in this passage. Don’t you understand how much you’re hurting yourselves? I’m trying to help you! Please just come to me. But they were not willing.
God is waiting with open arms for us to finally realize that He’s been trying to help us this whole time. We often think we know how to solve our own problems and live our lives, but sometimes we end up causing more harm to ourselves than we recognize by not letting Him help. He knows how best to help us, and He wants to.
Take a moment and rest in the deep love Jesus expresses in verse 37. Don’t be afraid to run to Him, take refuge under His wing and allow Him to help you through.
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for your love. Help me to always turn to you and willingly accept your love for me. May I always remember your words, that you have “longed” to gather me under your wings!
