What to Pray for Your Childrenનમૂનો
What to pray for your children
Practical guidelines (3)
Pray for generosity. “Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life” (1 Timothy 6:18-19).
Pray for the fruit of the Spirit in their lives. “The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” (Galatians 5:22-23).
Pray for humility. “But He gives us even more grace to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say, ‘God opposes the proud but favours the humble’” (James 4:6).
Pray for a sense of responsibility and the ability to finish what they started with. “For we are each responsible for our own conduct” (Galatians 6:5).
Pray that they will be content and grateful. “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Pray that they will grow in faith. “The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Show us how to increase our faith.’ The Lord answered, ‘If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, “May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,” and it would obey you!’” (Luke 17:5-6). “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see” (Hebrews 11:1).
About this Plan
Parents want to pray for their children but may not always know how and for what. They might pray with wrong attitudes, hindering prayers and leading to disappointment and unbelief. This Reading Plan provides guidelines and Scripture on how to pray.
