Make Room, Giving Jesus Space to Fully Transform Your Heart and Lifeનમૂનો

CONSIDER
What we buy is often an indication of how we feel about a product or brand. Trusted brands are ones we’ve come to know well. We trust them because we’ve spent time with their products and recognize their worth.
SCRIPTURE
In Revelation 3:18-19, our Creator reveals there is more to buy in life than trusted products and trendy brands. We can unknowingly buy into messaging, and ways of living that leave us cold and empty.
Jesus encourages us to buy from him things incomparable in worth. He doesn’t force or manipulate us to do it; He counsels us.
What does He counsel us to buy?
Gold refined by fire—not many things in this world can survive an encounter with fire. However, gold is purified by heat. Time in the refiner's fire makes it more valuable. Making room for Jesus purifies our hearts.
White garments – there are things we’ve done and will do that can cause us to feel shame. There’s only one way to be washed fully clean of it. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus clothed us in his purity. Making room for Him gives us space to come clean daily.
Salve to anoint your eyes – sometimes we can’t see the forest through the trees. Jesus wants to defog our cultural lens and give us clarity in place of confusion. When we make room for Him, our perspective changes; eternal, unfading things come into clearer view.
Switching Brands
Today’s Scripture reading informs us that God corrects and disciplines those He loves, therefore, Jesus instructs us to be zealous and repent.
It can be hard to switch brands. We might be used to wearing our shame; we’ve made do without eternal gold and may be content in our blindness.
Jesus offers something different than the other merchants, and it will result in life change. Will you buy from him?
CONNECT with GOD
Where do you need to switch brands? Ask God. What does it look like for you to “be zealous and repent?" (Repent means turn and go in the opposite direction.) Confess. Envision Him handing you a white garment.
DIG DEEPER
Read Proverbs 31:10-31. As you read, envision the wife in the Scripture as God’s people and the husband as Jesus. What do you notice about the excellent wife? What does she buy? What is the outcome?
