Do It Anywayનમૂનો
STAY AT JESUS’S FEET
Doing it anyway starts with settling ourselves so we can hear instructions on how to move forward in life. If we don’t do that, we’ll be all over the place trying to figure out how things can go wrong, how things can’t work, what we can’t do, and what we don’t have the knowledge or education to do.
The greatest lesson my father taught me was to stay at Jesus’s feet. When we submit all our flaws and our incapability at His feet, that’s where we find strength. The power to move forward is in pausing before Jesus and allowing Him to encourage us. It’s in hearing Him say: I’ve given you what you need in order to do these things.
Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” We often assume this verse means that God will give us what we desire. But what if it means that the desires we have are placed in our hearts by God? If He gave me this desire, I’m going to fulfill it with my best!
After all, talent is one thing, but you have to match talent with tenacity.
Every artist must be persistent in the pursuit of their craft.
Every gifted performer must have perseverance to make it onto the stage.
Every skilled person needs a bit of resilience to steward their gift.
Another thing my dad taught me was the mindset that you don’t fold at a task. You don’t shy away and quit in the heat of the moment. You take it and you conquer it!
Be alert to God’s plan and purpose. And then when you see it, before you can talk yourself out of it, go for it!
Pay attention to how God is leading you. What dream or divine invitation have you been suppressing because it feels too big or bold? Find out more about what it will take to make your dream happen. Look at the people in your circles and consider how God is encouraging you through their words. Begin asking for help in strategic ways; you might be surprised by where and how help arrives. Don’t allow the feeling of inadequacy or a perceived lack of qualifications cloud your vision. Do "it" anyway!
