Proverbs 31 Warriorsનમૂનો
Worthy Warrior Bride
A woman of valour who can find? For her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10 (JPS)
Similar to the Jewish culture exemplified in Genesis 24:53, it is common practice for grooms to pay brideprice in Nigeria, West Africa, where I was born. The bride's family would provide a list of things for the groom's family to purchase as evidence that they value the future wife and demonstrate their capacity to meet all her needs. They bring cows, fruits, money, clothes, and more. If it is on the list, the groom’s family must search the universe to get it. The sacrifices involved in procuring an item indicate its value.
In Proverbs 31:10, the price of a woman of valour is far above rubies because she is in a covenant relationship with her Maker, who is her Husband (Isaiah 54:5). Your Maker, the Lord of Hosts, paid a price above rubies which is the blood of Jesus, to receive you into His family.
Our Maker is our Husband (Isaiah 54:5). He paid the best price for us to join His family, giving us a new identity: More Than Conquerors. Rubies are rare red gemstones, but they are no match for the price God paid for a relationship with us; the rare red blood of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 6:20; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Acts 20:28). God gave His Son to demonstrate His value for our lives and capacity to meet all our needs. He bought us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into His royal family, a clean bloodline, with a new dimension of authority to dominate the natural and supernatural realm as kings and priests unto God (Romans 8:32; 1 Timothy 2:6; 1 Peter 2:9).
Our ability to establish or manifest God’s will in our earthly realm depends on the depth of consciousness regarding our spiritual identity presented in Proverbs 31:10. Knowing Whose we are (Who owns us) and who we are in the spirit realm shapes our earthly realities. That’s why the enemy is always seeking to skew our understanding or perception of our identity. God wants us to look to Him as our spouse, whether we are single, married, divorced, or widowed. God must be our first love. When we enter any relationship without an identity rooted in God, those relationships will become idols, and many of our expectations will be left unmet because God is irreplaceable.
Reflect: As a Proverbs 31 warrior, the price Jesus paid with His blood gives you value and identity. You are not worthless. People may have dishonored you or called you worthless, but you aren't. From this moment, begin to do life holding your worth in Christ in mind.
Renew Your Mind: Meditate on 1 Peter 1:18-19 by personalizing and confessing it at least 99 times throughout the day. Also, pray in the Spirit while holding that Bible verse in mind.
We hope you were blessed!
