5 Days to Finding More Peaceનમૂનો
The Ultimate Example of Peace
We can see the ultimate picture of a person at peace when Jesus was on the boat with his disciples in Mark 4. It’s easy to imagine that after a long few days of teaching and healing, Jesus was tired and wanted to rest. But his disciples wanted to travel across the sea by boat, so they boarded the ship. A fierce wind came and rocked the boat with so much force that even the seasoned fishermen with Jesus were afraid. However, we learn in verse 38 that Jesus was sound asleep in the stern of the boat.
This passage shows us that God is the one who gives us peace. Even in the midst of a storm, Jesus was able to sleep peacefully because he trusted in God and his nature. Jesus, being one with the Father, understood his character because it was also found in him. No worry was found in Jesus; he slept soundly while the others became anxious about the situation they were in.
We can have the same peace if we trust in Jesus. In John 14:1, Jesus told us to believe in him the same way we believe in God. Verses later, in verse 27, Jesus reminded us that he gave us his nature of peace, which was different from the peace found in the world. We know that when we are worried or anxious, Jesus is still with us and he never leaves or forsakes us. We can also be confident that we can pray to God for peace and he will give it to us. His Word promises that he will.
As we carry the nature of God’s peace, we are able to distribute it everywhere we go. We can easily carry the title of son and peacemaker (Matthew 5:9) into the world wherever we are — when we interact with coworkers and bosses, while out shopping, or even with strangers and people we meet. We can commit to being his people of peace in the world. Today, let’s do a better job of being carriers to God’s peace everywhere in the world.
About this Plan
Believers encounter situations every day that may cause us to lose peace. But as Christ-followers we have an advantage: We can trust the nature of Jesus to give us peace. This five-day plan explores how we can have everyday peace through trusting God.
