Godly Parenting: What Does the Bible Say About the Purpose of Having Children?નમૂનો
Gift
Think about the last time someone gave you a gift—the initial excitement of the gift, the sheer appreciation of receiving the gift, the expectation of what's inside the gift especially if the gift is wrapped in expensive wrapping paper. Your mind usually tends to go all over the place on what could be inside and how much effort and money went into purchasing the gift. Sometimes before you open the gift, though it may seem strange, you might ask yourself if you are a worthy recipient. Question, when was the last time you had these similar thoughts about your own children? Have you found yourself burdened by the thought of your children or even having more kids? You might not dare say this out loud, but maybe the enemy has planted this thought in your head. Our culture is increasingly promoting negative images on having children, and we need to ask God to restore a biblical perspective again which starts with the word of God.
Let’s read what the book of Psalms has to say about our children. It reads, “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3 (NLT) Please meditate on the words that the Psalmist has presented to us through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit for a few moments.
(Selah)
When someone gives you a gift you typically accept the gift, right? However, accepting a gift is different than receiving it. When you receive the gift, your excitement, desire, and expectation cannot contain themselves, and it moves down your limbs, and you typically open the gift up with your hands. Then you enjoy the very thing that was gifted to you.
So today ask God to give you the grace and desire to receive your child/children again. Ask Him to reignite your passion for your children. Thank God for giving you your children, and even thank God for your future children, whether they are biological or even spiritual. After you do this, something amazing will happen. You will start to notice your appreciation for your kids will increase. Also, the expectation of the specific gifts God has placed in them will start to get you excited about what God’s plan for them will be in the future.

About this Plan
The enemy is after our children. He is envious of God’s seed because every single child has a divine purpose to advance the kingdom of God. As the body of Christ we must continue to share the truth about the blessing of having children which aligns with God’s heart. This devotional provides three biblical principles to remind us what the Bible says about the importance and purpose of having children.
