Jesus Makes All Things New: 12 Days Reflecting on Your New Path

DAY 11 OF 12

...Oh, sing to the LORD a new song!
For He has done marvelous things;
His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.
Psalm 98:1 (NKJV)

Worship is a large part of our walk with Jesus. So, we can’t rush past this truth as we seek Him to make all things new in our lives—or even just one little snippet of our journey in a new direction.

Yet, we do not worship because we have an insecure God who is so egotistical that He needs us to come into His presence with praise. Instead, worship was meant for us. When we come in adoration before Him, our gaze is shifted from our circumstances to Who He is. When we magnify Him, we are literally enlarging our view of Him resulting in His felt presence, peace, power, joy, strength, or comfort. Our faith arises, and the miraculous is released (Ps. 22:3).

Worship aligns us with His purposes and vision, not only all around us but for us personally. How essential worship is as we seek His face for our new thing. When worship happens in spirit and truth, as Jesus spoke about, we establish His rule in our lives and circumstances (John 4:23-26). The adversary flees in the presence of genuine praise (Ps. 68:1).

So, let’s sing a new song to Him as the Word declares to us.

Is that new to you, possibly? Think of it this way. You can purchase a greeting card for a loved one filled with exquisite poetry penned by another. Yet I can promise you, what you personally write regarding your love or affirmation for the person you are giving the card to, will mean ever so much more to them.

Remember, we don’t need to be in a sanctuary to worship the Almighty. We don’t need to be shiny clean, sinless, and spotless. We come because we need His reign in our life. Let's sing a new song to Him today.
