Have you ever been so exhausted you could hardly do anything at all? No matter how long your to-do list may be, you simply can’t find the energy to get up and get it done. Sometimes life can leave us feeling worn down and worn out. No matter how hard we try, we just can’t seem to keep up! When we get tired like that, it’s important to remember we have a place where we can find real rest: with God. God loves us, cares for us, and wants to help us.

Holding on to that truth will help us not only press on when we need to, but it will also help us step back and rest when we need to as well. When we’re ready to give up, we can turn to God for help, knowing that we can trust God to take care of whatever is worrying us or holding us down. That’s where real rest is found! Ask a friend, spouse, or small group leader how they’ve seen God care for them when they were tired and needed rest. Then, ask them to help you see God doing the same in your life! Let that shape your perspective as you find the strength to persevere.
