When Holidays Hurtનમૂનો
Strength for The Moment
Some days, out of habit, I would pick up the phone to call her. But she was gone.
And the holiday season? The least jolly I could imagine.
David begins today's reading with words I've placed on echo in my heart.
"I love you, Lord, my strength."
David had long known where true strength came from. His declaration of love reminds us of just how much God loves us. He gave the greatest gift ever to the world—His one and only Son.
If your heart barely beats and your knees are weak because circumstances have sucked joy out of your life, then know that you're not alone in your pain.
God is your rock; He is not moving. He is your refuge; you can run to him no matter how angry, frustrated, or desperate you feel. He understands your emotions as the creator of humankind. He is your shield, and he will protect you.
Though death has gripped your soul and pain snatched your courage, in your deepest distress, help is near. Your God hears every cry and sees every tear. He is with you in the darkest night and most anguished sorrow. He has not abandoned you, and he will not. You are his child, and his arms long to hold you. Cling to him.
Pray with Me
Father, I need you to be my strength. I have none of my own; the pain of loss is too deep. I can hardly find words to pray, but Your word promises that you hear me. Hear me now, Lord. Fill me with enough strength to take one more step. Amen.
See you tomorrow!
