Momma's Boyનમૂનો
Day 2: Why Can’t I?
You might be thinking to yourself, "No one can possibly love my son more than me, so there is nothing I can’t give him." You are correct that no one else will love your son as much as you do, other than God of course, but you cannot give him what you don’t have.
Unless you are a Godly man, you can’t give him everything a Godly man can no matter how much you love him.
There are things in a boy’s or young man’s life that he must see being displayed in another man to fully grasp.
This doesn’t mean you have to be in a relationship to provide that for your son. Not only is that something you have to wait on God’s timing and guidance for, but a mistake in relationships can make the situation worse for your son. So you will want to make sure any male significant other you bring around is who God wants to be there.
It does mean you need to find Godly men who are willing to be an example in your son’s life. They can be grandfathers, uncles, cousins, teachers, pastors, coaches, etc. You just need a man who is led by God and is willing to be present in your son’s life as much as possible. You want them to have a relationship with him so that he feels comfortable going to them when he needs things. Those men should be close enough so your son can observe their lives. Much of what your son will learn will be through observation and imitation.
Let’s look at an example of this principle from the Bible. Hannah prayed to God earnestly for a son. She promised God if He blessed her with one, she would give him back to Him and he would be dedicated to the Lord. For her son Samuel to be dedicated to the Lord, he had to learn under someone who was also dedicated to the Lord. So once Samuel was old enough to be weaned, she took him to the Tabernacle at Shiloh and left him there to be raised by Eli the priest. Samuel later succeeded Eli as the priest for the nation. Hannah loved her son with all her heart, but to learn to be a priest he needed a priest to teach him.
