The Great Commissionનમૂનો
Historically, the early church’s transferable life-to-life training proved to be highly successful. This was even true without the benefit of printed Bibles, Christian seminaries, or church buildings. The first century’s Christian educational process was dependably simple. It was therefore unstructured, relational, and largely verbal. This is why a believer’s lifestyle became the very essence of their witness.
This is also why the Apostle Paul reminded early believers to continually focus on deepening their personal faith. To encourage this needed growth, he wrote, explaining that – “faith comes from hearing… the Good News about Christ.” (Romans 10:17) Like enjoying one’s daily nourishment, early believers needed to carefully listen to what God was saying! A vibrant fellowship with the Lord was necessary for a vibrant personal witness!
Today, as in the first century, we still have a shortage of trained, (non-vocational), workers who know how to share their faith as a lifestyle and to personally equip disciples who will do the same.
The Lord gave us clear instruction, plus gave us His example to follow. He said,
“…The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” - Matthew 9:37-38
Today, would you pray to the Lord of the harvest to "send you and use you where He has already placed you?" Just as Christ said, "You shall be my witness in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Where has the Lord placed you? Who is in your own personal "Jerusalem?" Who is closest to you... family, friends, co-workers? Start there. Today.
