Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 10નમૂનો
In Paul’s second letter to Timothy, Paul expresses final encouragement to Timothy. It is understood that Paul knew that he was nearing the end of his life. The final communication in this letter to Timothy is filled with fundamental truths from a loving leader to the one he trained and led from childhood.
Paul starts with a warning, like any father would, as part of his encouragement and understanding of the challenges that Timothy might face in ministering to the church. He does, however, not create this moment of awareness to sow any judgment or fear. Paul uses these words of warning to lead Timothy to the understanding of the safety of scripture. The scripture should always be the final tool of measurement. It is given to us to build us up, teach us and encourage us. There will always be safety within the frame of the scripture.
We should, however, take into consideration that Scripture is not given to destroy, judge or place a new form of slavery or bondage on us. It is inspired through the Holy Spirit to teach us about the GOOD NEWS of the gospel. The Holy Spirit uses scripture to convince us and assist us in a life drawn to intimacy and empowerment. We continually receive counsel and correction in love. The scripture will never contradict the truth of Christ. Through the display of God’s love, the person of the Holy Spirit brings us into our understanding of our true identity.
We do not keep the rules to be accepted. We live by these principles because we are accepted.
Our inner conviction, in alignment with the scripture, cultivates a need for this new way of living. Displaying personal commitment to a life aligned with this integrity results in the change displayed in and through our lives.
Do I spend time with scripture? Does reading the Bible help me grow in love, or does it lead to condemnation? Do I identify areas in my life where understanding scripture will help me with difficult decisions?
