Being Made Whole Through The Gospelનમૂનો
Crossroads of Temptation
Reflect:
I am tempted multiple times a day. You know the saying “you win some, you lose some”, I guess that is how you can sum up my direction at the crossroads of temptation. There are times I scream with victory, and other times I completely miss the mark and feel ashamed. Although my flesh wants to say I had no way out, no other option, the Word says God provides a means of escape, every time.
The real issue is not that I didn’t have a means of escape; it’s that I loved the sin that the temptation awarded more than obedience to Christ and His Word. Hard pill to swallow, isn’t it? If the Word says we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37), and that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength (Phil. 4:13), why is it so difficult for us to acknowledge that God creates a means of escape from our temptations and enough so, that we can endure it? Another road to follow is presented every single time, and it is the best road to take at this crossroad! We don’t have to give into temptation!
His power is made perfect in our weaknesses (2 Cor. 12:9). I am so guilty of not relying on His strength and power. It’s probably something we all fail at. You are not alone and I am not alone. Let’s know the truth of His Word. God is faithful, sisters, and He will give us a means of escape from our temptations and we can trust that His strength will help us endure turning from them.
Pray:
Father, thank you for providing a means of escape for every temptation I encounter. Help me to hide Your Word in my heart, so that I may not sin against You.
Your Turn:
Do you find yourself giving into temptations more than conquering them?
