Day One: God Leads Us From Victory to Victory
Have you ever felt like you are just surviving or barely making it through the struggles of life? All humanity has felt this way at one point or another; this is the human experience. However, God wants us to live from victory to victory, not struggle to struggle. With the power of His word, we can overcome every lie of the enemy. By reminding ourselves of the promises of God, we can start to walk with our heads held high and in confidence that God is not a man that He would lie, but His words are true and we can cling to them no matter what we face.
Every Sunday our senior pastor, Mark Estes, prays a powerful benediction over God’s people based on scripture in the Old and New Testaments! This benediction inspired us to write a song called “Victory to Victory,” reminding us to remember these promises God laid out in His word. If we would only trust in God’s word and declare with our mouths, we would see our limited human perspective shift and the glory of God fill our everyday lives.
In Matthew 4:1-11 ESV, Jesus was led into the desert for forty days of fasting. When He was at his most vulnerable, hungry state, the tempter came to try and lead Him to agree with a twisted perspective, a lie. Jesus responded with “it is written” and quoted the truth of God’s word, destroying every lie of the tempter. Still today the tempter comes to God’s people at their most vulnerable times, often right before their greatest breakthrough, to once again try and deceive God’s people to believe a twisted perspective. It is imperative that we know the truth of God’s Holy Word and meditate on it day and night. When the tempter comes to tell you “you are not enough” you can respond with Numbers 6:25 “The face of the Lord shines upon me!”
When the tempter says your best days are behind you, you can respond with Exodus 13:21 “the glory of the Lord goes before me!” When the tempter tells you: “you will continue to go from battle to battle and struggle to struggle,” you can respond with 1 Corinthians 15:57 “The Lord leads me from victory to victory!” When the tempter tells you “you are surrounded by your enemies and are overwhelmed,” you can respond with Deuteronomy 28:7 “the enemy who comes at me in one direction will flee from me in seven!”
When the tempter tells you that you are behind in life and cannot do what God has called you to do, you can respond with Deuteronomy 28:13 “God has said I am the head and not the tail, I am the first and not the last!”
Benediction
May the face of the Lord shine upon you
May the glory of the Lord go before you
May He lead you from victory to victory
May the enemy who comes at you in one direction run from you in seven
I declare in the name of Jesus you are the head and not the tail
You are the first and not the last
You are blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out
You are blessed when you sit up and blessed when you lie down
The work of your hands are blessed
The steps of you feet are blessed
The thoughts of your mind are blessed
You are blessed to be a blessing
Now go and be a blessing to someone today.
