Growing in Faith During Your Baby's First Year - a 6 Day Devotionalનમૂનો
The Posture of Humility
When you said “yes” to motherhood, that meant sometimes saying
“no” or at least “not right now” to parts of yourself. A lot of people have
no idea about the things you’ve turned down: the promotion, the spotlight, the time, energy, and availability for that quiet dream of yours.
Sometimes saying “yes” to motherhood has meant saying “no” or “later”
to so much. I want you to know there is One who knows and who values
the service in obscurity.
Christ is our example of the “no” of love. Though equality with God
belonged to Him, though angels’ praise was the glory He deserved, He
willingly left it. He laid it aside— not forever, but for a season. And He
emptied Himself. He took the form of a servant, and by so doing He set
for us the ultimate example of love and greatness.
That doesn’t mean that as mothers we have to give up our dreams.
It means that as we dream our dreams, they are going to take on a God-shaped
bent. They will be dreams shaped in the form of exalting Christ.
Those dreams are ones that often have us stooping low in service because
God’s kingdom is an upside-down kingdom. We stoop to rise. We serve
to lead. We die to live.
