3 Biblical Promises About God's Provision (Part 2: Peter)નમૂનો
Day 2: Peter's Not-So-Smooth Sailing and God's Provision
"Lord, if it’s you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
So, there you are, just like Peter, hanging out in a boat during a storm. No biggie, right? Jesus shows up, casually walking on water, and you muster the courage to ask if you can join Him. You take that first step, and suddenly you're a regular water-walker. Who wouldn't be feeling pretty great at that moment?
But, in classic human fashion, fear creeps in, and you start to sink. (Hey, at least you got a few good steps in before gravity remembered you, right?) This moment is a sneak preview of Peter's denial of Jesus and a reminder that we can all have our "facepalm" moments when it comes to faith.
The silver lining? Jesus swoops in, providing the ultimate lifeline. I love how this story reminds us that even when we're sinking (literally or figuratively), God's got our back.
Reflection:
- Take a moment to reflect on the times you've "sunk" in life and how God has provided for you, even when it felt like you were wearing lead boots.
- Identify the "storms" in your life that make you question God's provision.
- Pray for a faith boost and an eye for spotting God's provision in your life, especially during the not-so-smooth sailing moments.
Let's pray:
Dear Lord, thank You for the story of Peter walking on water and the honest and raw reminder that we're all a bit clumsy when it comes to faith sometimes. I confess that I have let fear and doubt cause me to stumble, even when I know deep down that You're always there to catch me. Help me to remember Your faithfulness and provision, even when I’m sinking in life's choppy waters. In Jesus' name, Amen.
