Real Hope: Relationship With Godનમૂનો
Prioritising God
My husband and I love to stop at the end of the day and have a coffee together. As working parents, it can be hard to make time to stop and just be together. There are so many things that need to be done during the day. But making time for each other is important and helps keep our relationship healthy. So, we stop at night and connect. Sometimes we have lots to talk about, sometimes, we don’t. There’s no set agenda – it is just our way of intentionally making time for each other each day.
Our relationship with God is no different.
We can easily take God for granted. He is always there. Deep down, we know He will never leave us or forsake us, so we easily prioritise everything ahead of Him. But that’s not what a healthy relationship is all about. And that’s not what God wants. He doesn’t just want a piece of our heart; He wants all of it. He wants us to spend time with Him. To hear His heart for us. To hear His plans.
And that requires us to prioritise time with Him over everything else. This doesn’t mean we neglect all our relationships, but it means we intentionally set time each day to meet with God. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is or how long for. What matters is we sit with Him daily and give Him our complete attention. Talk with Him undistracted. To know His heart for us. To seek His wisdom and grace. To receive His love. And when we do this, our hearts will align with His. Our minds will be covered by His peace. And most importantly, our love for Him will deepen.

About this Plan
God is the great creator and yearns for a healthy relationship with us. As Laura says, this plan: God ‘doesn’t need us to get the words right for the exchange to be worthwhile.’ It’s a relationship – just you and God in a free and loving exchange.
