Making a Difference: A Bible Plan for Leaders in Kids’ Ministryનમૂનો
You Can Make a Difference
Every day, people are hurting. You watch it on the news, you read it online, and you hear about it on the radio. In fact, you probably know people who are hurting—maybe a lot of people. Maybe even some of the kids in your small group.
It can feel like there’s nothing you can do that would make much of a difference.
But consider the approach Jesus took. He focused on one hurting person at a time. He was with them, fully present. He made a difference one patient, kind, and loving interaction at a time. And that’s what you can do for your friends, your family, your co-workers, and the group of kids you lead each week.
If you ever feel you’re too ______ to make a difference in the lives of the children and families you serve, think about Timothy. He was a young church leader who believed the lie that he wasn’t old enough to make a difference. Thankfully, God used a wise man named Paul to speak truth to Timothy: God had given him everything he needed to make a difference.
Here’s the truth for you: You can make a difference in a way no one else in the world can. Jesus calls His followers to show their love for God and for others. He calls this being the salt and the light of the world. He doesn’t expect everyone to do it the same way. He expects you to bring your own experiences and wisdom to the table. He wants you to be the you He created you to be.
When you’re full of this truth, you can help the kids in your group know they matter, too. You can help them see God gave them a voice, they can stand up for others, they can right wrongs, and they can do big things.
God is ready to use you to show the world what Jesus looks like. So take a deep breath, and go shine your light.
You can make a difference.
Pray This: God, thank You for trusting me to shine Your light in the world. Please give me eyes to see those I can help each day, and help me to ignore the lies that keep me from making a difference. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Do This: What’s one way you can shine a light this week, so others can see what Jesus looks like? How can you inspire the kids in your group to shine their light?
