Kingdom Blessing Demonstrated
One of the things Jesus came to do was model ministry. He invites us to step into the kingdom now, becoming carriers of the kingdom to others.
We don’t go alone, though. In the book of Joel, God says, “I will pour out my Spirit on all people” (Joel 2:28 NIV). The implication is that the Holy Spirit is going before us, working in lives and circumstances, even when people have not yet come to understand or see His hand. Dreams and visions are being planted in hearts.
How does blessing work itself out in the nitty-gritty of life? It’s easy to conclude a conversation with “God bless.” It’s also easy to say, “May I bless you?” or “May I speak a blessing over you (or your life, health, marriage, home, kids, circumstances)?” When we meet the sick, we have the possibility of saying, “I have good news for you. Would you like to be set free? I set you free in the name of Jesus.” That is the bringing of the gospel, the good news to that person. We can speak blessings in Jesus’s name to individuals, families, communities, regions and nations and physical ground.
When we meet the lonely person who feels cut off and unwelcome, and we say to them, “Come in, join us,” this brings the kingdom of God near to them. When we meet the demonized person and we declare deliverance for the afflicted, a captive is released in Jesus’s name.
Our lives are not our own. We have been called to live for God and for others. We have been given a commission to embody the character and work of the kingdom to others. No one is left out. No one is excluded. Each is uniquely loved. God wants to reconcile all things to Himself by equipping us to be carriers of His love.
Turn the cup of your life the right way up so it can be filled afresh and overflow. You can become a carrier of the presence of God. You are called and privileged to carry blessings to others.
Who in your life or daily interactions seems to be feeling left out? In what ways could you speak blessing over that person?

About this Plan
For followers of Christ, the ministry of spoken blessing introduces the present reality and power of the inbreaking kingdom of God. It conveys the authority of God to shatter curses and release captives. These devotions explore this ancient biblical practice of blessing. If you are a believer, God is calling you to the ministry of spoken blessing—and to know that His deep desire is to bless you as well.
