Wife Study Challenge: A Plan for Husbandsનમૂનો
Day 2 Challenge: Needs Study
My sweet husband noticed that I was constantly reheating my morning coffee. Multiple times a day I would forget about my coffee and then remember it and have to reheat it so that I could enjoy it again. After noticing this, he gifted me with a coffee mug that stays hot and connects to my phone so that I can set the temperature and it’ll keep that temperature for hours! I didn’t even know such a thing existed.
When he surprised me with it I felt so loved and absolutely ecstatic. I felt so loved because he saw a need of mine and met it without me having to ask. My husband was paying attention to me and it made me feel loved.
Do you know what your wife’s needs are? Are you familiar with her physical, emotional, and spiritual needs?
The Bible is full of examples of people living out their faith by means of meeting each other’s needs. We are meant to share with one another and to work together as a body to serve God and each other. In Luke 3:10-11 we see that we are supposed to share with one another the tangible things we have. In Deuteronomy 22:4 we see that when someone needs help, we are called to stop and assist them.
The call for husbands when it comes to loving their wives is even greater and more weighty as husbands are called to specifically sacrifice for their wives (Ephesians 5). How can you love your wife well if you aren’t aware of her needs? How can you nourish your wife if you're not cognizant of her yearnings? How can you cherish her if you ignore her desires?
One way you can pursue godliness as a husband is to study your wife's needs.
Study her needs today. Be very observant of her and think as you observe her: what is something she needs? What is one way you can serve her? Is there a tool or item that you think would make her life better, and that you could go and get for her? Is there something you could gift her with that would meet a need she has? Or is there something you can take off her plate? A chore you could do that she typically does?
Challenge: Observe your wife today and find a need, then lovingly, meet the need.
Prayer Challenge: Pray with your wife over her needs. Ask God to move in ways that provide for her. Thank God for the way that he meets both your needs.
