3 Biblical Truths About Money (That Most Christians Miss)નમૂનો
Day 3: You can “store it up” by giving
Today, let's explore the concept that giving is a means of storing up treasures in heaven. In Matthew 6:19-21, Jesus teaches us not to focus on accumulating earthly treasures, which are temporary and subject to decay or theft. Instead, He encourages us to store up treasures in heaven, where they will last forever and be secure. One way to do this is by being generous with our resources and using them to make a positive impact in the world.
When we give to others, support meaningful causes, or help those in need, we're investing in something much more valuable than material possessions. We're investing in the lives of others and, ultimately, in the kingdom of God. This kind of giving has a host of benefits:
- It obviously benefits the recipients of our giving.
- It also enriches our own spiritual lives, drawing us closer to God and aligning our hearts.
- It is incredibly satisfying and provides deep joy.
- And the one most Christians seem to forget about is that it is storing up treasures for eternity!
We don’t know exactly what these “treasures” are that are being stored up, but you can bet that you and I are going to be really excited about them.
And I believe if we had even the slightest understanding of what they are, we all would be constantly scouring for any and all opportunities to give!
As you go about your week, consider how you can use your resources to store up treasures in heaven. Look for opportunities to give generously, whether it's your time, talents, or finances.
Remember the words of Jesus in Acts 20:35, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Let this simple truth guide you in your journey towards a life of generosity and purpose.
Let’s Pray:
Heavenly Father, help me to get a deep revelation of what it means to store up treasures in heaven. As I go about my day to day, help me to always be aware of how short this life is and how long eternity is. Help me to see the world through an eternal lens and make financial decisions accordingly. Show me opportunities to give generously and use my resources to make a lasting impact in the lives of others. May my heart be aligned with your word, and may my generosity reflect Your love and grace. Amen.
