[Wisdom for Kids] Wisdom Has Rewards!

DAY 3 OF 7

Knowledge, the Liberator

Solomon discovered that true knowledge and wisdom come from our respect for the Lord. God is the Giver of life, so when we respect the Lord, we appreciate everything He created: humans, animals, nature, and all living things. He loves to give us the knowledge to take good care of the lives He created—including our own.

Sometimes we don’t know how to take good care of ourselves, which is why we need our parents to share their knowledge. For example, did you know that when we’re small, our heads are heavier than our bodies? That is why you don’t want to lean over a deep pool. The weight of your head could make you fall in! See? Knowledge keeps you safe.

Just like your parents want to teach you all the good things they know to keep you safe, God wants you to seek His knowledge so you may have a good life. God loves to show us how our hearts work because He created them with a purpose.

You can trust God with your heart. Talk to Him about all the things that make you worry, fear, or get angry. Talk to Him about the things that make you happy. He loves to hear from you.

(Parents/adults–talk to your child about how you take care of yourself emotionally. Share how you have learned to entrust your emotions and feelings to God. This life that Jesus purchased on the cross is worth taking care of, so set an example for your little one).

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the life that You give me. I want to honor You by respecting myself and others around me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
