Am I good enough?

The longing for recognition, however slight it may be, can be a great temptation as you create something. An artist can easily be consumed by that desire and soon find that their whole identity is wrapped up in what the world thinks of them. As a follower of Jesus, your hope is found in him. He is also where your identity lies.

John writes in his gospel that “all who received him, all who called on his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” You are his child. The temptation of glory from this world can be cast aside for this truth. You are treasured by the King of Heaven. As an artist, your identity does not come from the world around you or the praise of others, but from knowing who you are as a child of God.
